Wow - I came across your blog from problogger-inspired post "Lessons from an Ice Cream Truck". Good one, by the way.

But this post "Kill your TV" made me comment.

The same happened for us ...now 9 years ago! When "Survivor" first came on, my wife and I commented how much time we're wasting on such lame TV programming. Now, nearly a decade later - we haven't even owned a TV for 8 years.

Warning from the wise: be prepared that, after some time, you'll feel social pain at the water cooler. Sure you'll have more free time and WILL accomplish more meaningful goals, but when friends are bonding over last week's debute medical/cop/reality/all-the-above show, you may feel out of touch. Killing TV is worth it, but don't brag about "how worth it" it is. Killing the TV is not for everyone.

Since we permanently turned off TV, we managed to add so much more to our lives.

Now, enjoying expat life in Prague, Czech Republic

How long was the snow on the ground in Vancouver this winter? 2, 3 weeks?

It's warmer here now. Maybe I'll have to post some spring pictures to warm you back up.

And, for the record, I am still a Canadian, eh.

Wow! that looks cold. I'm starting to shiver just looking at those pictures. Living here in Vancouver, such bitter coldness is beyond imagination. By the way, it's about 14 degree Celsius here today in the sun.
For you Americans, I *think* that translates to about 85 degree Fahrenheit, or close to it.

Miss you sweetie 8^)

That shot of the pond is great Jay. Tell Shula we would love to see more pictures she takes, of whatever she thinks is interesting. Maybe buildings are interesting to ex-Vancouverites since we rarely saw brick buildings or external fire-escapes...?

I received an offer for a free ring tune as well but an 'error' occurred when I tried to download it.

I've been on the phone with rogers waiting for a representative (not about the ring tune) for about 45 minutes already! Why did so many people have to call today to give them shit..
