Rogers’ “Free” Gift

Our latest phone bill had a URL to redeem a free gift for one of our Rogers services. I went to a page that offered a free ring tune. I never buy these things and thought it’d be fun.
First, I had to choose my phone type. I knew it was a Sony Ericsson, but what model was it? J300, T236, T237, W600i, or one of 5 others? Luckily for me, I remembered the phone had a status page that reported its model number (it’s nowhere on the phone’s case).
That hurdle jumped, I selected the ring tune and it said it would send it to my phone. I quickly got a message on the phone and selected “Load” only to be greeted with:
Unauthorized
We’re sorry, you are unauthorized to view this page (ip=205.205.50.3-0)
Thanks, guys. Another customer experience shot to hell.

I haven’t had a chance to look at our bill yet. Now I’m curious to check, because it’s only fair that we have a lousy customer experience, too!

Received today letter from Rogers home phone re free gift to customers
on the occasion of the first anniversary.- checked rogers.com/choosegift,
unable to locate on my yahoo screen.

I was looking to taking advantage of the $10.00 Petro Canada gift card before September 15,2006. I am disappointed that the directions given to obtain this gift card do not have any validity. Is this a joke? In future don’t send me any of these so-called “tokens of appreciation” if you’re not serious about making these gift cards available to your customers!

I received an offer for a free ring tune as well but an ‘error’ occurred when I tried to download it.
I’ve been on the phone with rogers waiting for a representative (not about the ring tune) for about 45 minutes already! Why did so many people have to call today to give them shit..
