Well, first off, I’m too much of a loser to see the trailer because apparently, it won’t run on my version of QuickTime, and I can’t upgrade because I’m still stuck in the dark ages with my Windows 98. Loser.
Secondly, if you’re too much of a literalist, then so am I: cows are female and should have female voices. Unless all the cows are in the midst of sex-change operations and were formerly bulls, but the trans-gender hormones haven’t kicked in yet.
Yeah, that must be it.

I’m with you, Jay, and I’m getting pretty tired of seeing people portray animals as trying to be as hip as people. Animals are great for being animals. The end. Leave them alone, for crying out loud.
Also, notice how peaceful and mysterious and beautiful the woods seem in the opening? (Yeah, scary, but still very real.) Why the heck do they have to spoil that with loud music and obnoxious voices?
And parents wonder why their kids act weird. It’s been sold to them.

Just went to the movie with my two daughters and that was the same questions my ten year old kept asking me. She was totally confused, but of course my eight year old said ” it’s fantasy” so I guess they can do that.
