Still Alive 2

Saturday, October 16th, 2004

It’s sad that I can only post that I am not dead. However, blogger has eaten my “substantive” post twice and we are moving houses at the end of October which is eating up any free time I may have had.

Anyway, check back in mid-November. Hopefully something will have happened here by then!

Moving!

Wednesday, October 13th, 2004

We just found a new place to live in which will become “home” sometime in November. No, we are not buying – no one without a serious cash injection can afford to buy property (by which I mean a house and land) in Vancouver right now.

We’ll be renting 2 floors of a character home straddling the east/west side Vancouver border. It’s off of any major streets and offers us a much better layout. Both bedrooms are upstairs and this will be much more kid-friendly. The house also offers such novel concepts as a huge kitchen (with dishwasher!) and a separate dining room. If you know our current home, you’ll understand why these two features are so attractive. And, though too late for this season, there is a large sundeck and a lovely garden (which we do not have to tend — good news for the garden).

As if life weren’t busy enough… it just got totally crazy!

Pictures will no doubt follow at some point once the craziness subsides.

Photo Shoot

Saturday, October 2nd, 2004

Hey, I have my first ever photo event shoot. An acquaintance asked if I would shoot a charity gala she’s organizing and after some thought I agreed. It’s for charity, so I won’t be earning any cash (instead, I get a tax receipt), but it’s an excellent learning opportunity.

Unfortunately, there will need to be cash spent from my end to get a much-needed flash and extra memory card.
